A Lesson for Publishers. The Outlast Trials Sets Record After Big Steam Discount
The Outlast Trials set a new online record on Steam after a 90% discount - the number of concurrent players more than doubled.
As part of the Steam Autumn Sale, the game can now be purchased for 130 rubles ($3.99 in the US) – this is the lowest price since its release in March 2024. The Outlast Trials has 92% positive reviews on Steam.
According to SteamDB, the project's online peak grew to 94,507 thousand players. At launch, the peak reached 36,689 players. At the time of publication, The Outlast Trials ranks fourth in Steam's best-selling games, surpassing AAA new releases Ace Combat 8 and Gears of War: E-Day. Perhaps this will be a hint for publishers that big discounts quickly pay off.
A month ago, the creators presented a new development plan for the game – Season 7.1 starts in October.
