"The People vs. Gorilla Grodd" to be Released After "Superman: Legacy" - James Gunn Clarifies Series Chronology
James Gunn had to explain the statement made by the actor playing Jimmy Olsen.
James Gunn announced that the series "The People vs. Gorilla Grodd" will be released after "Superman: Legacy," and its main events will unfold after the film's events:
"It's a true-crime series, so it constantly moves through time. But in the overall chronology, it comes after 'Superman: Legacy' — and won't be released before it."
These words were a reaction to a recent statement by Skyler Gisondo, who returned to the role of Jimmy Olsen. The actor previously claimed that the series' events would unfold between the two Superman films.
"The People vs. Gorilla Grodd" will tell the story of the investigation into Gorilla Grodd, who was convicted in 2021 for the murder of his own father, the King of Gorilla City. A Daily Planet journalist will try to find out if he was fairly convicted or if the investigation made a mistake.
The showrunners are Tony Yacenda and Dan Perrault, creators of "American Vandal." Gorilla Grodd will be played by Jimmy Tatro. Other Daily Planet employees will include Steve Lombard played by Beck Bennett, Cat Grant played by Mikaela Hoover, and Perry White played by Wendell Pierce.
The premiere date has not yet been announced.
