Earlier, Xbox tried to find a buyer for the studio, but it didn't work out.

Layoffs have begun at the British studio Ninja Theory, best known for the Hellblade series. This is evidenced by posts from former employees on LinkedIn. However, Microsoft has not yet announced the exact number of specialists laid off, and Ninja Theory itself has not officially commented on the situation.

Among the employees who reported being laid off or at risk of losing their jobs were specialists from various departments. VGC names technical sound designer Alessio Mellina, gameplay programmer Kathryn Marr, technical specialist Zoe Subari, technical director Lun-Wei Dean, sound engineer Matteo Tummino, senior technical artist Matt Lefevre, character artist Peter Berto, technical artist Justin Pedersen, and lead sound engineer Daniel Galante.

Kathryn Marr, who worked at Ninja Theory for four years, wrote that it was especially hard for her that the team would not be able to finish the work they had been doing. According to her, a lot of effort and talent had been invested in the project. However, it is not yet clear whether her wording means the cessation of game development or merely that specific employees will no longer be involved in its creation.
