PlatinumGames head Atsushi Inaba stated that the developers want to continue developing the Bayonetta series, although he refused to directly confirm the existence of a new project.

Inaba said this in an interview with the Japanese publication Famitsu, dedicated to the collaboration between PlatinumGames and Shift Up. The companies teamed up for a Bayonetta crossover with Stellar Blade, which will appear in the Stellar Blade Complete Edition for Nintendo Switch 2.

When the journalist asked Inaba if PlatinumGames was preparing the next step for Bayonetta, the head replied that he could not say anything yet. At the same time, he emphasized that there is a “strong desire” within the company to develop the character further and expand her world.

I cannot answer that right now. We have a strong desire to continue developing Bayonetta's story and expanding her world. I hope you will wait to see what form this takes in the future.

When directly asked if a new game in the series should be expected, Inaba again preferred to remain silent.

In 2025, PlatinumGames also celebrated the 15th anniversary of the first Bayonetta. The studio organized various events for fans, released official materials and commemorative merchandise, and the company itself stated that it wants to continue creating projects that can delight fans of the series.
