Sebastian Stan Revealed How His Role as Trump Helped Him Get into "The Batman Part II" - and Shared His Impressions of Working with Matt Reeves

Participating in "The Batman" sequel was a completely new experience for the Marvel star.

Sebastian Stan spoke about how he landed a role in Matt Reeves' “The Batman Part II”. In an interview with Josh Horowitz, the actor explained that the director became interested in him after watching the film “The Apprentice”, in which Stan played Donald Trump. Coincidentally, around the same time, the actor was already discussing with James Gunn the possibility of joining DC:

“Matt saw 'The Apprentice' and he really liked the movie and my work. That became a conversation starter. And around the same time, I was testing the waters with James Gunn: 'I think we should come up with something.'”

Who exactly Stan will play in the “Batman” sequel has not yet been revealed. According to the actor, it's a completely new experience for him, and he's very excited about the opportunity to work with Reeves:

“He's really honed everything and he knows what he's doing. I'm just happy to be a part of that vision. It's ambitious, but I think it's going to be great. For me, it's definitely something completely different from anything I've done before.”

Despite moving to DC, the actor still wants to see Bucky Barnes as Captain America one day and regularly reminds Marvel of this idea. Meanwhile, Stan will return as Bucky in “Avengers: Doctor Doom”, which will be released on December 18, 2026.

The premiere of “The Batman Part II” is scheduled for February 18, 2028. Filming for the movie was recently paused due to Matt Reeves' “family matters”.
