Top Gun: Maverick Soars to Top of Paramount+ Global Chart Amid Ace Combat 8 Release

Top Gun: Maverick took first place in the global Paramount+ film rankings — according to FlixPatrol data for October 5, the film topped the platform's national charts in 17 countries.

The film's rise in the rankings coincided with the release of Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve. Early access to the aerial combat game began on September 29, with the full release on October 2. In the three days prior, Maverick did not top the Paramount+ chart in any of the tracked countries, but by October 2, it had reached first place in nine countries.

On the same day, the film scored 190 FlixPatrol points, up from 164 the day before, showing the largest daily increase in the last week. In the following days, Maverick continued to strengthen its position: on October 4 and 5, it received 194 and 197 points respectively, and the number of countries where the film took first place increased from nine to 17 by October 5.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is the first main installment in the series in seven years. The game is set in Strangereal, the franchise's fictional world. The player takes on the role of an ace pilot who, along with comrades, fights to liberate their homeland. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
