It's necessary: Hideo Kojima explained why he isn't revealing any details about the horror game OD

Three years have passed since the game's announcement.

Hideo Kojima explained why his horror game OD still remains virtually without details almost three years after its official announcement. According to the developer, such secrecy is a conscious decision — he wants to maintain maximum mystery until the game's release.

Kojima announced this on October 5 during the premiere of the third season of the KOJI10 radio show on TBS Radio. Since OD's presentation at The Game Awards 2023, only a few things have become known about the project: the developers revealed the cast and screenwriter, showed a few screenshots, and two teaser trailers.

Kojima noted that in previous projects, he usually released several teasers and gradually revealed details. However, for OD, he decided to abandon this approach.

He also described OD as a game that should «push players to the brink of fear».

Kojima also spoke about the current state of development. Filming of materials for the game was suspended due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, but resumed in July of this year.

Work on the project continues, including ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) — re-recording of lines necessary to replace or correct sound recorded on set. According to Kojima, the entire process will continue until next year.
