An enthusiast under the nickname Odrannnn has released an unofficial native port of Metroid Prime for Android, Windows, and Linux. The project is based on the decompilation of the original GameCube game and allows it to run without an emulator.
On Android, the port features touch controls with aiming by swiping a finger across the screen. Weapons and visors can be switched via radial menus, and the map can be moved, zoomed, and rotated with gestures.
The port supports widescreen displays, adjustable field of view, mods, and save transfers from Dolphin. The frame rate is unlimited, but the game logic runs at a fixed rate, so physics and animations maintain their original speed. It is also possible to skip cutscenes and enable individual mechanic changes, including accelerated transformation of Samus into a Morph Ball.
To run on a smartphone, a device with Android 9 or newer and ARM64 support is required. Additionally, the user needs their own image of the American version of Metroid Prime 1.00 for GameCube.
