"Red Riding Hood and the Roadside Murder" to be released in January - trailer and poster published
Red Riding Hood and Pinocchio will investigate fairy tales without a happy ending.
The creators of the anime "Red Riding Hood and the Roadside Murder" have unveiled a new trailer and poster, and also clarified the premiere dates — the adaptation of Aito Aoyagi's detective light novels will begin airing in January 2027.
The story follows Red Riding Hood, who, along with Pinocchio, travels through a world that combines famous fairy tales — from "Cinderella" to "Sleeping Beauty." The characters investigate crimes and other mysterious occurrences, with Red Riding Hood relying on her curiosity and quick wit to uncover the truth.
BENTEN Film is handling the production. Itsuro Kawasaki is the director and screenwriter, Manami Minakata and Yuko Yahiro are responsible for character design, and Jun Ichikawa is composing the music.
The books previously received a manga adaptation with illustrations by Noki Tanaka. In 2023, Netflix also released the live-action film "Red Riding Hood Finds a Corpse," based on the first book, in which the main character, along with Cinderella, investigated the murder of the royal hairdresser.
