The absence of a Switch 2 version of Castlevania: Belmont's Curse stunned a former Nintendo manager

"Konami acted very strangely."

The release of Castlevania: Belmont's Curse became an ambiguous event for Nintendo Switch 2 owners, as the game was only released for the original Nintendo Switch — there is no separate version for Nintendo's current console.

This decision surprised even former Senior PR Manager for Nintendo of America, Kit Ellis.

If you're a Castlevania fan and you primarily play on Nintendo Switch 2, I wouldn't blame you for having mixed feelings about Castlevania: Belmont's Curse.
Kit Ellis, former Nintendo employee.

According to him, the situation looks especially strange because the game can technically be launched on Switch 2 thanks to backward compatibility, but there is no full-fledged version for the new console.

The game isn't even coming out on Switch 2. That is, you can play it on Switch 2, but it's a game for the first Switch. There is no separate version for Switch 2.
Kit Ellis, former Nintendo employee.

On Switch 2, the game, judging by the demo version, runs at 60 frames per second. However, the resolution situation is noticeably worse. Ellis noted that the image on the new console looks quite rough.

Konami
On Switch 2, the game looks a little blocky, a little blurry when you're playing. But, I think it's better than nothing.

The ex-Nintendo manager also noted Castlevania's historical connection with the company's platforms. The first games in the series were released on NES and SNES, so the appearance of a new installment on Nintendo Switch is quite logical.

It feels like Konami didn't bring this game to a full release.
