Hacked PS5 Banned by Sony - Owners Warned of Danger

This is currently the only confirmed case, proving that going online with a jailbroken PS5 is now risky.

Sony blocked a PS5 and its associated PSN account after the hacked console was connected to the internet. So far, this is only one confirmed case.

The information appeared in an unofficial Turkish PlayStation community. According to the user, after connecting a jailbroken PS5 to the internet, he lost access to PSN, and the console itself was also blocked. The photo shows error WS-116332-6, stating that the device's access to PSN is “temporarily or permanently suspended.

The post was later deleted, but the group moderator decided to warn other owners of hacked consoles. Sony has not yet reported a mass ban.

The situation attracted attention against the backdrop of recent successes in the homebrew software scene. Jailbreak already works on PS5 with firmware 13.60, while the current version is 14.10. The new method reduces the launch of the exploit from approximately 50 minutes to a few seconds and works on both the regular PS5 and the PS5 Pro.
