YouTube deleted a blogger's channel with 190,000 subscribers due to Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival gameplay

News

Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival was recently released on consoles and PC. Saber Interactive studio noted even before the release that they intended to show harsh scenes — and the developers did not disappoint players.

However, a problem arose: in some places, the scenes turned out to be too harsh and explicit. Some platforms began to block content related to Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival. A well-known blogger, j0nathan, recently reported that he lost his channel — YouTube deleted it due to the demonstration of gameplay from the new horror game.

j0nathan noted that he covered various elements in the frame, although some other bloggers openly demonstrated naked characters and did not have such problems with YouTube:

YouTube, I am contacting you regarding the erroneous deletion of my channel with 190,000 subscribers. It was just a gameplay video, not "content intended for sexual gratification".

Now j0nathan is considering the option of going to court — he can use the DSA (European Digital Services Act):

I ask for a thorough review of my case before I start filing appeals under the DSA law and initiate legal proceedings with the help of my lawyer. I hope for a peaceful resolution.
