A boomer-shooter with a pencil as a weapon has been released on Steam - Paperhead receives very positive reviews
The protagonist's arsenal is not limited to the mysterious pencil.
Recently, Paperhead te4m studio and HypeTrain Digital publisher announced the release of Paperhead. The new game is positioned as a mix of a fast-paced boomer-shooter and an adventure horror game. The game's events unfold in a magical cardboard world where 'something went wrong'.
Players are offered to use a mysterious rune-covered pencil — it's 'not just a weapon, but also a tool that changes the world around you'. For example, developers will suggest drawing bombs to blow up enemies with them, or drawing doors and then kicking them down.
The pencil is far from the only weapon the main character can use: enemies can be kicked and shot.
The Paperhead page on Steam is available at the following link. The first reviews of the game are 'very positive', with a rating of 97%. A release discount of 20% will be valid until October 23.
On the release day, the Supporter Pack add-on was also introduced, which includes 'a set of skins for the leg you kick enemies with, barrels, and use to dash through levels' (cosmetic DLC).
