At the "NARUTO: What’s Next?" panel during New York Comic-Con, a new manga, Naruto: Shadow Rising, was announced. Masashi Kishimoto himself, the creator of the original "Naruto," will be in charge of the artwork. Along with the announcement, a teaser consisting of sketches from the upcoming manga was presented.
The video shows Konoha and the famous rock with the faces of the six Hokage, next to which the seventh is being carved. Then, the grown-up members of Team 7 are shown: Naruto holding the Hokage hat, Kakashi smirking under his mask, Sasuke standing with a serious expression, Sakura looking at a baby, and the teaser concludes with a clash between Naruto and Sasuke.
Judging by the frames, the events of Naruto: Shadow Rising will unfold after the original story. Details of the plot have not yet been revealed, nor has the number of chapters or the publication start date. More information is promised to be presented at Jump Festa 2027, which will take place on December 19-20, 2026.
