At New York Comic-Con, a full trailer for the series "Blade Runner 2099" starring Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer was shown. Half a century after the events of Denis Villeneuve's film, the world has changed dramatically: replicants have rebelled, humans have lost the war and become second-class citizens, and Los Angeles has been rebuilt without their involvement.
The story follows Cora (Hunter Schafer), who, tired of hiding, adopts her final identity and becomes a blade runner. Together with the replicant Olwen (Michelle Yeoh), who has only a few days left to live, she embarks on a search for a fugitive who holds a secret capable of destroying the fragile order in the revived Los Angeles.
Silka Luisa, who previously worked on "Halo," became the showrunner and executive producer of the mini-series. The first two episodes were directed by Jonathan van Tulleken, director of "Shogun." Ridley Scott and "Blade Runner 2049" screenwriter Michael Green also participated in the project as executive producers.
In addition to Yeoh and Schafer, the series stars Dimitri Abold, Lewis Gribben, Kaitlin Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, Jonny Harris, Sheila Atim, Matthew Needham, Tom Burke, and Maurizio Lombardi.
All eight episodes of the series will be released simultaneously on November 25, 2026, on Prime Video.
