Activision will launch the updated DMZ extraction mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 20, three days before the full release, entering territory where Escape from Tarkov and ARC Raiders have established themselves.

Activision will open early access to the campaign and the updated DMZ mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 for all digital edition purchasers, with the extraction mode becoming available before the full release of the game.

The single-player campaign can be started on October 16, DMZ will open on October 20. The full release will take place on October 23. Early access is provided for all digital editions.

In DMZ, players will have to complete tasks, collect loot, and evacuate from a dangerous zone, fighting both AI-controlled opponents and other participants. The developers promise story missions, puzzles, and equipment progression.

The action will unfold on the Hadjin map, contaminated with radiation. Variable weather and enemy troop movements will affect the course of the sorties. A safe zone will also appear where fighting is not allowed.
