DOOM Music Composer Revealed What Needs to Happen for His Return
Mick Gordon is ready to return to composing music for DOOM. For this to happen, his conflict with id Software and Marty Stratton needs to be resolved.
The Australian composer became famous for the soundtracks of DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal. At PAX Australia, he admitted that he does not rule out returning to the series, despite the scandalous end of his collaboration with the studio.
A lot has to align in a certain way for that to happen. If it ever does, then of course. I would do it without hesitation. I had a whole list of ideas about where I wanted to take DOOM. And I would definitely like to explore them someday.
The composer also recalled his conflict with Marty Stratton, accusing him of not paying half of his fee, acting behind his back, and toxic behavior.

Currently, Gordon is working on the cyberpunk shooter Defect and participated in creating music for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2. Next year, he will perform at the RADAR festival with an orchestra and band, playing compositions from DOOM and DOOM Eternal.
