Destiny Fans Got Their Way? Bungie Hinted at the Return of the First Part

Bungie hinted at a possible return of the original Destiny in an updated form after criticism from players and demands to continue developing the series.

The reason was the reaction of Josh Dean, Bungie's Head of Product and Marathon CEO. He commented on a video showing the first Destiny running on PC in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, wondering if such a game would find its audience.

Earlier, Bungie was criticized for a lack of communication with the community and decisions regarding the development of Destiny 2. Now the studio intends to restore player trust and rethink its approach to the franchise.

The first step was the decision to bring all previously cut content back to Destiny 2 for free. Veterans of the series welcomed this initiative with approval and hope for the release of Destiny 3.
