Excluding only Call of Duty.

Microsoft is conducting a survey among some Xbox Insider program participants to find out how players would react to the return of console exclusives.

According to Windows Central, the survey appeared yesterday and is intended for a portion of Xbox Insider users, presumably those who own multiple gaming devices. The publication confirmed the authenticity of the published screenshots of the questions.

Microsoft is asking participants to rate how likely they would be to switch to Xbox for specific games if they were to become temporary or full console exclusives. Among the mentioned projects and franchises are Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, DOOM, Diablo, Minecraft, as well as Hideo Kojima's PHYSINT.

One scenario considers a situation where existing versions of games would remain available on other platforms but would stop receiving new content. This also applies to Minecraft: according to the hypothetical plan described in the survey, its already released versions would no longer be available for purchase on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles, and updates for them would cease. However, previously purchased games and add-ons would be retained, and no changes would occur on PC.

The most radical scenario suggests the return of almost all future Xbox games to console exclusivity. The question is phrased such that all future projects of franchises developed by Xbox studios, with the exception of Call of Duty, would become exclusives for Microsoft consoles.

Participants are asked to indicate how they would act in such a case: start playing on their existing Xbox console, buy a new system, switch to PC, or completely abandon the company's games.

The exception for Call of Duty is likely due to Microsoft's commitments arising from the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
