DayZ received the Badlands expansion with the largest official map and new mechanics

Not only a map appeared, but also equipment, as well as unique infected.

Bohemia Interactive studio announced the release of the Badlands expansion for DayZ. Players are invited to explore the scorching province of Nasdar.

The developers position Badlands as the largest official map — 267 square kilometers of "vast, desolate lands located west of Chernarus and bordering the western frontier of Takistan".

Survival will take place in a dry climate, so players will have to pay special attention to the few wells that survived the war.

In the DayZ Badlands expansion, players will find unique infected (specially made for this DLC), as well as weapons and gear:

Thanks to the "Rebuilding" mechanic, it will be possible to restore or barricade certain structures.

Patch 1.3 is also being prepared for DayZ (currently in Experimental status), which will include visual UI changes, as well as improved animations for the infected and new transport — motorbikes.
