One of PlayStation 2's most unusual exclusives has made its way to smartphones - fans have ported the cult classic ICO to Android

The list of unofficial mobile ports has been expanded with another PlayStation exclusive.

Developer nathanialf released an unofficial port of ICO for Android, adapting one of the most unusual games of the PlayStation 2 era for modern smartphones.

ICO was the debut game of Fumito Ueda, who later created Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian. The story follows a horned boy, Ico, who meets a mysterious girl, Yorda, and together they try to escape from a huge castle. The player has to solve puzzles, help their companion overcome obstacles, and protect her from shadow creatures.

The author of the mobile port added touch controls and widescreen support. In the settings, you can increase the resolution and frame rate, enable anti-aliasing and improved texture filtering, and disable motion blur.

To run it, you will need a device with Android 10 or newer and your own image of the European version of ICO for PS2 with the code SCES-50760 — other versions of the game are not yet supported.
