A developer under the nickname BelmanteGu is working on an unofficial Android port of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. He showed a demo version running on Nintendo Switch and said that he plans to port the full game to smartphones.
According to the author, the port runs natively, and Switch graphics commands are translated to Vulkan. Gameplay can already be seen in the demo, although the interface and anti-aliasing are still buggy. The developer plans to fix the graphics, add FSR scaling, and achieve 60 FPS or higher.
Meanwhile, buyers of the official PC version are also facing technical problems. Steam reviews complain about a black screen on launch, main menu freezes, and frame rate drops when transitioning between locations. One player writes that menu controls didn't work in the demo, and the problem didn't disappear after purchasing the full game. At the time of publication, Belmont's Curse has 53% positive reviews on Steam out of 149, which corresponds to a 'mixed' rating.
The game from Evil Empire and Konami was released on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Its main character, Rosa Belmont, fights monsters in Paris, using the famous whip as a weapon and means of transportation.
