Players complained about the game's technical state and clear signs of AI-generated images.

SEGA and Creative Assembly have removed Total War: Shogun 2 – Complete Edition from sale after widespread player complaints about technical issues, bugs, and the quality of AI-enhanced graphics.

According to players, some re-worked textures and other visual elements look low-quality. In addition, the Complete Edition retained bugs from the original game that fans expected to see fixed.

SEGA acknowledged that the new version did not meet audience expectations and did not comply with the company's internal quality standards. The publisher announced that it is cooperating with platform holders to temporarily suspend sales of the Complete Edition and restore the availability of the original game.

The developers intend to identify the causes of the problems, prepare improvements, and bring the game to the level of quality that the audience expects from the Total War series.
