Dota 2 Player Had to Get 32 Kills Under Police Supervision to Prove He Was an Esports Athlete
Raid participants checked the pro player's skills and also took his supply of Nutella.
Recently, a professional Dota 2 player encountered the police. 23savage had to visually demonstrate his skills to law enforcement officials.
According to 23savage from Xipto Esports, the police suddenly raided the team's bootcamp and handcuffed the players. They also turned off the internet, confiscated gadgets and documents:
My team and I finished training and were sitting, scrolling through our phones — and suddenly a group of Kuala Lumpur police officers entered the house. They confiscated passports and phones, disconnected the internet and computers, and then handcuffed me and FBZ OLI. For two hours, they interrogated us: what we do, whether we are really pro players.
One of the police officers turned out to be familiar with Dota 2. 23savage showed him his social media account and a joint photo with a local blogger — the officer recognized her:
And he replied that he knew Ms Puiyi (with me in the photo). After that, the police were convinced that I was indeed an esports player and a media personality.
After some time, 23savage asked how long this would last, as he needed to continue training:
Then the police officer uncuffed only me — so I could prove my skill level. I launched Dota 2, and the officer sat down to watch me play as Kez. In that game, I got 32 kills, and he believed me.
The reasons for the police raid on the bootcamp are unknown. The police themselves did not disclose anything. According to 23savage, the police ate his Nutella (chocolate spread).
