Clive Barker, creator of "Hellraiser," admitted in an interview with Dread Central that he is "damn proud" of the game Hellraiser: Revival. He feared that the developers would have to make serious concessions to censorship, but in the end, he was pleasantly surprised by how far they managed to go.
According to Barker, Revival showed that the franchise still has room to grow, including in cinema. The author himself has plenty of ideas and is not going to say goodbye to the "Hellraiser" universe.
"I think what has been achieved in the game is a signal to everyone involved in creating a franchise like "Hellraiser." It reminds us that we need to rethink our ideas to return to familiar worlds in a completely new way. I have many ideas that I would like to implement in the Hellraiser universe, and I intend to continue participating in its development."
At the same time, Barker has not yet announced any new films. The latest adaptation remains David Bruckner's "Hellraiser" reboot, released in 2022, which offered its own interpretation of the familiar mythology. Hellraiser: Revival, in turn, tells an independent story inspired primarily by the atmosphere and ideas of the first two films from 1987 and 1988.
