94% Positive Reviews and Only 99 Players. Has the New Game from the Creators of Psychonauts Failed?
Thank You Bus Driver, Double Fine's first game after leaving Microsoft, received positive reviews on Steam, gathering a low peak online.
Double Fine Productions' first game after parting ways with Microsoft received 94% positive reviews on Steam. The peak online was only 99 people, and sales, according to Gamalytic, reached only 2,900 copies. At the time of publication, 4 people are playing.
Thank You Bus Driver became the first project of the Double Fine Productions Action Lab initiative, within which the studio plans to release small games with a short development cycle. This should help it stay afloat until an investor is found to create a large AA or AAA level project.

The game, released a few days ago, offers beating up bus passengers. Despite good reviews, audience interest turned out to be weak: such sales are not enough to support a large studio.
However, Thank You Bus Driver is available immediately in several PC stores: Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, Humble, and Game Jolt. The game is not available in the Microsoft Store.
