Cosplayers Show Miquella and Malenia from Elden Ring: An Indivisible Union of Gold and Decay

Cosplayers Azula and Anastasia "Tobikashi" Vaskova transformed into Miquella and Malenia from the game Elden Ring - demigod wonder twins carrying heavy curses in their bodies.

Photographer Ekaterina Morpheeva ventured into the harsh universe of the action RPG Elden Ring to capture some of the demigod inhabitants of the Lands Between.

During her photoshoot, cosplayers Azula and Anastasia "Tobikashi" Vaskova portrayed such well-known characters as Miquella and Malenia.

They are brother and sister — twins born from the union of Queen Marika and Radagon. Both twins carry heavy divine curses. Malenia was afflicted with rot, which gradually destroys her body from within, while Miquella received the curse of eternal youth, which caused his body to be forever stuck in childhood.

The relationship between the twins is built on absolute devotion, deep love, and mutual protection. Malenia voluntarily renounced her own ambitions related to the throne and proclaimed herself the "Blade of Miquella," becoming his personal protector and formidable weapon while her brother sought a way to heal them from their curses.

Miquella himself, possessing incredible intellect and empathy, created a unique Haligtree and an alloy of pure gold capable of restraining the influence of outer gods and stopping the spread of rot in his sister's body. Almost all military campaigns and battles waged by Malenia were dictated by her desire to protect her brother and assist in the realization of his plans for world restructuring.

The characters' appearances differ strikingly and emphasize their curses. Malenia looks like a tall, stately warrior with long, bright red hair, whose body is severely disfigured by rot, causing her right arm and both legs to be replaced by elegant golden prosthetics. In battle, she wears a winged helmet that covers her sightless eyes and a light cloak that emphasizes her swiftness.

Miquella, in contrast, is described and depicted as a fragile boy with long golden hair braided into plaits, who radiates holiness, purity, and innocence.
