Only soulslike fans needed: new vacancy reveals details of Lies of P sequel

The game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5.

A new Neowiz job posting has revealed additional details about Round 8 Studio's next game, which is presumably titled Wonders of O.

About a month ago, it became known that the trademark Wonders of O was registered, which was linked to a sequel to Lies of P. The secret ending of the original game already hinted at a dark interpretation of "The Wizard of Oz," but details about the plot and gameplay remain unknown for now.

According to the concept artist vacancy, the new game will be developed on Unreal Engine 5. The project description mentions high-quality graphics, elaborate level design, and dynamic action. Candidates are also required to have experience working on PC and console games, indicating a multiplatform release.

As in the first part, players will have to face various monsters and use different weapons. The concept artist's responsibilities will include creating characters, monsters, weapons, costumes, and accessories in accordance with the project's art direction. The description specifically emphasizes the need to be able to depict characters with various body types, which may indicate the return of grotesque creatures characteristic of Lies of P.

Notably, this vacancy does not mention artificial intelligence tools for art creation.

Neowiz also has unusual requirements for potential employees: the studio is looking for people who are genuinely passionate about video games and well-versed in soulslikes. Candidates must have played at least 30 hours of Lies of P, confirm their playtime, and have completed at least three soulslikes. The announcement specifically notes that applications from people who do not like or do not play video games will not be considered.

It is currently unknown how much Wonders of O will differ from the original Lies of P. The stories of Pinocchio and Dorothy are based on different fairy tale worlds, so the question remains whether the sequel will retain the familiar adventure structure. However, information about platforms and possible level design is consistent with previously emerging rumors.
