District 12 Prepares for the Reaping - New Poster and Stills from "The Hunger Games" Prequel Revealed

"The Hunger Games: Sunrise of the Reaping" will be released in Russian cinemas on November 26.

ScreenRant has unveiled a new poster for "The Hunger Games: Sunrise of the Reaping," dedicated to the tributes of District 12, as well as several stills from the upcoming prequel. At the center of the poster is a young Haymitch Abernathy, played by Joseph Zada. Joining him in the arena will be other representatives from his district, including Maysilee Donner, played by McKenna Grace, and Wyatt Callow, played by Ben Wang.

"Sunrise of the Reaping" takes place 24 years before Katniss Everdeen's story, during the 50th anniversary Hunger Games, also known as the second Quarter Quell. In honor of the anniversary, the Capitol will double the number of participants, so instead of the usual 24, 48 people will enter the arena.

Francis Lawrence, who directed most of the previous films in the franchise, served as director. The cast also includes Ralph Fiennes, Elle Fanning, Jesse Plemons, Maya Hawke, and Glenn Close.

The Russian premiere of "The Hunger Games: Sunrise of the Reaping" will take place on November 26, 2026. The film was originally planned for release on November 19, but the date was then moved back a week.
