Former BioWare producer and one of the development leads for Dragon Age, Mark Darrah, believes that after the studio's closure, Electronic Arts might either sell the rights to its famous franchises or completely abandon their further use. According to him, there are currently no guarantees that new games in the Mass Effect and Dragon Age universes will appear in the future.
No one at EA is currently working on Mass Effect or Dragon Age games, and most likely, no one ever will again.
In his opinion, the current situation might push Electronic Arts to sell the rights to these series. However, another scenario exists: the publisher might prefer to leave them undeveloped and effectively forget about their existence.
