A developer under the nickname Wicked has released an unofficial Android port of the first Darkest Dungeon. The mobile version received touch controls and a text translation into Russian. According to the build description, it also includes add-ons to the original game, with the exception of The Fire’s Edge and The Butcher’s Circus.
Darkest Dungeon is a gothic role-playing game with turn-based combat, where expeditions leave a mark on the heroes' psyche. The player has to recruit and train adventurers, and then send them into dungeons, crypts, and infected forests. In addition to monsters, the squad is threatened by diseases, hunger, and stress: the horrors experienced can drive fighters to paranoia or a nervous breakdown, and character death here is irreversible.
Between sorties, you need to develop the settlement, heal your charges, and help them cope with the consequences of what they have experienced. Success depends on both the composition of the squad and the arrangement of heroes in battle, as well as on the readiness to retreat in time, sacrificing loot for their salvation.
The first Darkest Dungeon was developed by Red Hook Studios. The game exited early access in January 2016 and received 91% positive reviews on Steam after more than 141 thousand user reviews.
