Xbox Executives Missed Targets Five Times in the Last Six Years

News for all activists who criticize Asha Sharma for mass layoffs and restructuring.

Xbox executives have failed to meet performance targets, on which part of their compensation depended, for five of the last six years. This is reported by GameFile, citing data on Microsoft's top management bonus system.

Xbox was supposed to increase revenue from content and services by 4.3% by June 30, 2026. Instead, the company recorded a 6% decrease in this indicator.

Recently, Microsoft has been taking various steps to expand its audience, develop the Xbox ecosystem, and increase the gaming division's revenue. The company is changing its approach to Game Pass development, experimenting with cloud gaming services, rethinking its game exclusivity strategy, and developing new initiatives, including the Xbox XP program and the Xbox Labs project.

However, management does not expect an immediate financial effect from the new strategy. The company intends to evaluate results in the long term, so the consequences of current changes may not appear immediately.
