Liberty City in Your Pocket - GTA IV Receives Experimental Android Port

Enthusiasts continue to experiment with classics.

A developer under the nickname vaduur has released LibertyRecompAndroid — an unofficial port of GTA IV for Android, created based on a recompiled version of the game from Xbox 360.

The mobile version received touch controls with on-screen buttons and support for external gamepads. According to the developer, on a Retroid Pocket 5 with a Snapdragon 865 processor, the game usually runs at 30 FPS at 720p resolution, although in complex scenes the frame rate drops to 25-29 FPS. On more powerful devices, performance should be higher, but the author himself has not yet completed the game and has not checked the operation of add-ons.

To run it, you will need Android 10 or newer, a Snapdragon 865 processor or more powerful, and at least 8 GB of RAM. Also, for installation, you need your own image of the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV with Title Update 8.
