The creators of the anime “Kaiju No. 8” announced that the final chapter of the story will be released as a feature film, and unveiled the first poster with the tagline “The era of humanity ends.” The illustration was created by Shinji Kimura, who worked as the art director for the series:
The feature film will conclude the adaptation of Naoya Matsumoto's manga about Kafka Hibino, who failed to realize his childhood dream of joining the Japan Defense Force, but after an unexpected transformation into a kaiju got a second chance to prove he is capable of protecting humanity.
Production will once again be handled by studio Production I.G, with Shigeyuki Miya, who worked on the second season, serving as director.
The Japanese premiere of the feature finale is scheduled for 2027. The exact date and timing of the international release have not yet been announced.
