“Clayface” changed its title ahead of Russian release — the film will hit theaters as early as October 29

Following a successful global debut, the horror film is gearing up to meet Russian audiences.

DC Studios’ body horror “Clayface” will hit Russian theaters as early as October 29. This was reported by the outlet Cinemaplex, which referred to the movie as “The Clay Face” — apparently, that is the exact title to look for in theater showtimes.

The film follows Matt Hagen, a young actor whose career is ruined by an attack that leaves his face disfigured. Hoping to regain his former appearance, he agrees to an experimental treatment. At first, the procedure helps, but soon Matt’s body begins to mutate unpredictably, and his desire to return to a normal life gives way to a thirst for vengeance.

The lead role was played by Tom Rhys Harries. The film was directed by James Watkins, who helmed “Eden Lake” and “Speak No Evil”, with the screenplay penned by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini. Over its opening global box office weekend, “Clayface” grossed around $43 million against a production budget of $44 million.
