Inscryption developers announced a mobile version and addressed questions about a sequel and expansions

Some fans have been asking the developers to do “something more” for years.

Daniel Mullins Games has announced the development of a mobile version of the card horror game Inscryption, designed to introduce the game to a new audience. The release window and distribution model have not yet been disclosed. Along with the announcement, the developers addressed fans who regularly ask for expansions, new cards, and mechanics:

“We hear you and deeply appreciate your desire to see more of Inscryption. However, we consider the game a finished work, both in terms of story and gameplay. We do not want to add content just for the sake of quantity or to capitalize on the game’s success. It is incredibly important for us to preserve the atmosphere, identity, and experience that made Inscryption special. After all, you were touched not only by the gameplay, but also by the memories left by this amazing journey.”

Thus, fans should not expect new expansions for now. At the same time, the creators do not rule out returning to the Inscryption universe in the future and left an intriguing hint: “But who knows what else lies ahead for the Inscryption universe…”

Currently, the team is focused on Pony Island 2: Panda Circus, a sequel to the 2016 puzzle game in which the player was trapped inside an arcade cabinet created by the devil and tried to escape by manipulating its program code. In the sequel, players will have to save their soul from underworld deities by beating and hacking their games. The Steam release is scheduled for April 27, 2027.
