Pikmin and Pikmin 2 ported to Android — two Nintendo games available in one app

The fan adaptation offers more features than the original versions.

A developer going by the handle SSunnKing has released the Android version of Open Nectar—a project combining unofficial ports of the first two Pikmin games. Both games run without an emulator and launch from a single application, although each requires its own GameCube version image.

The mobile adaptation supports touch controls with customizable on-screen button layout and size, external gamepads, widescreen displays, and HD textures. For those already familiar with the originals, additional settings are provided: players can randomize item and enemy placements, change day length, and adjust squad size.

The first Pikmin can even be played in co-op on a single device by connecting two controllers—in this mode, Olimar is joined by Louie from the sequel. Additionally, update 1.0.9 from October 25 added the ability to create custom captains and Pikmin, as well as combine custom missions into full campaigns—features that are not yet available for the second game.
