BioWare removed all rainbow flags from the Mass Effect: Universe presentation so as not to anger EA’s new owners — media

French publication BFM Tech reports that BioWare tried so hard not to anger EA’s new owners that it even compromised its own principles.

According to a former developer, prior to showcasing the game to Electronic Arts executives, the BioWare team decided to remove a flag from the presentation materials that could be perceived as a symbol of support for the rainbow community.

Employees feared that its presence could trigger a conflict with management. As a BFM Tech source noted, the team did not want this element to distract from the game itself or prompt a negative reaction from top executives.
