The creator of Celeste and TowerFall announced that both games will leave the Xbox store. The decision is linked to supporting the BDS movement, which calls for a boycott of Microsoft over the corporation’s ties to Israel.
The BDS movement advocates for boycott, divestment, and sanctions against Israel. Its supporters urge companies and consumers to reconsider their cooperation with organizations that, in their view, are involved in supporting Israeli policies.
Earlier in October, the developers of the co-op game Big Walk also announced that they would not release it on Xbox in support of BDS. Yet, they still released the game on Windows.
