“Clayface” hits Russian movie theaters — DC horror has already grossed $50.8 million worldwide

Russian audiences can now watch one of the most highly rated horror films of recent years.

Today, October 29, screenings of the DC Studios body horror film “Clayface” kicked off in Russian movie theaters. The movie follows a young actor, Matt Hagen, whose career is derailed by an attack that leaves his face disfigured. Hoping to regain his former appearance, he agrees to undergo an experimental treatment. At first, the procedure works, but soon Matt's body begins to change unpredictably, and his desire to return to a normal life is replaced by a thirst for revenge.

The lead role was played by Tom Rhys Harries. James Watkins, director of “Eden Lake” and “Speak No Evil”, helmed the project, while the screenplay was penned by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini.
