Kojima Productions has registered the Death Stranding: Odradek trademark.
The Odradek is a mechanical device mounted on the shoulder of the main protagonist, Sam Bridges. In Death Stranding, it is used to scan the surrounding terrain, detect traces of chiral activity, and warn of danger posed by otherworldly entities.
The device became one of the visual symbols of Death Stranding thanks to its unusual design and the characteristic movements accompanying threat detection. It also plays an important role in world exploration and the protagonist’s survival.
At present, the studio has not disclosed official details regarding the purpose of the trademark.
