According to Deadline, Netflix is developing a live-action series based on PUBG. The lead role will be played by Donald Glover, known for “Community”, “Atlanta”, and “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”. He will also direct and co-write the script with his brother Stephen Glover.
The brothers previously collaborated on “Atlanta”, where both served as writers and executive producers. Donald also starred in the lead role and directed several episodes. For his work on the series, he won two Emmy Awards — for acting and directing.
According to Deadline, the deal to adapt PUBG followed extensive negotiations, with Netflix bringing Glover to the project. Neon TV, the actor’s company Gilga, and Krafton’s division LV3H, which oversees the franchise’s expansion beyond video games, are also involved in the production.
Plot details and the production timeline have not yet been disclosed.
