Take-Two admits the gaming industry is gradually shifting toward PC, but GTA VI will still release on consoles first

According to Zelnick, Rockstar traditionally releases its games on specific platforms first and then ports them to other systems.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that the gaming industry is gradually shifting toward PC.

In an interview with CNBC, Zelnick noted that the market is moving toward open platforms rather than closed ecosystems. According to him, the trend of growing PC popularity will continue in the coming years.

I think the industry is moving toward PC, and the business is moving toward open platforms rather than closed ones. But if by console you mean not a specific system, but the format itself, then the idea of a large-scale game that you can immerse yourself in for hours and play on a big screen isn’t going anywhere.

Zelnick also emphasized that PC is becoming an increasingly important market for Take-Two itself. The company executive wouldn't be surprised if the current trend continues in the future. At the same time, Zelnick stressed that gaming consoles will still remain in demand.
