Infinity Ward has made changes to the matchmaking system in the DMZ mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, increasing the priority of PvP battles.
According to Charlieintel, citing its sources, the matchmaking system now matches players against each other more frequently. The likelihood of encountering other squads is expected to increase regardless of the chosen playstyle.
In addition, the developers adjusted matchmaking for story missions. If a user has already completed a specific mission, the system now sends them to a regular lobby instead of a separate match with other participants completing the same mission.
Previously, story missions allowed players to encounter each other less often, making it possible to focus on the PvE component of DMZ. However, following the latest changes, some players have begun noticing significantly more PvP encounters and comparing what is happening to Warzone.
At the time of publication, Infinity Ward had not officially commented on the matchmaking system changes. It is also unknown whether the new settings are permanent or represent another experiment by the developers.
