Super Mario Odyssey, Metroid Dread, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus launched on Android — nx2android receives an update

Enthusiasts continue to find new ways to port Nintendo games to smartphones.

A developer going by the handle shirai91 has expanded the capabilities of nx2android, a fan-made tool for porting Nintendo Switch games to Android. Update 0.2.0 introduces support for Super Mario Odyssey, Metroid Dread, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus. According to the author, during his tests, all three games ran at around 60 FPS on a Lenovo Legion Y700 tablet with a Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The mobile adaptations support on-screen buttons with customizable layouts, external gamepads, as well as exporting and transferring saves between devices.

Recently, the list of supported games has also been expanded to include Hollow Knight: Silksong, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Blasphemous 2, and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. However, performance depends on the device: bugs still occur, and full compatibility with Mali and PowerVR graphics is not yet available.

Preparing the mobile versions requires a computer running Windows or macOS, dump files of your own Switch game copies, and keys from your console.
