Games Workshop has unveiled two new holiday boxed sets for the tabletop game Warhammer: The Horus Heresy, which are sure to delight fans of the Legiones Astartes.
The “Vanguard Assault Battle Group” set includes 20 Tactical Legionaries in Mk VI “Corvus” armor, 10 Assault Legionaries in Mk VI “Corvus” armor, a Legion Praetor with a power sword, a Contemptor Dreadnought, a Deimos-pattern Rhino tracked armored personnel carrier, and a Deimos-pattern Predator tank.
Meanwhile, the “Heavy Assault Battle Group” set contains the following miniatures: 20 Tactical Legionaries in Mk III “Iron” armor, 10 Breacher Legionaries in Mk III “Iron” armor, five Legion Command Squad Legionaries in Mk III “Iron” armor, 6 Cataphractii Terminators with volkite chargers and power mauls, as well as a Land Raider in either the Explorator or Carrier variant.
According to the team, either of these battle groups will make an ideal starting point for a new Legiones Astartes army or a convenient way to bolster the ranks of a player's existing forces.
They will be available for pre-order very soon, which means the only thing players need to worry about is choosing a legion and declaring their allegiance to either the Emperor or the Warmaster.
