Police in the British county of Derbyshire decided to comment on the arrest of an offender in an unusual way: law enforcement officers published a car chase video styled after Grand Theft Auto 6 and advised the criminal to leave dangerous driving to the streets of Vice City.
The video appeared on the official TikTok account of Derbyshire police. Constables added an interface resembling the HUD from GTA 6 to the footage and also used the track Flower in a Hurricane as background music.
In the post, law enforcement reported the arrest of Jack Vickrage. In the video caption, they joked that the man could have waited just a few more weeks until the release of GTA VI, but now he will spend release day in prison.
According to police, during the chase the driver cut corners and sped down residential streets at high speed, endangering pedestrians and other motorists. Officers stressed that such behavior is acceptable only in virtual Vice City, not in real life.
The man was detained on charges of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, drug driving, and possession of cannabis. In the end, he received a 14-month prison sentence.
