Dave Bautista showed the results of his preparation for the role of Kratos in the God of War series for Prime Video. The actor posted a video on social media wearing a T-shirt with the game's logo, boasting a 20-pound (about 9 kg) gain. Bautista now weighs approximately 113 kg, or 250 pounds.

As a reminder, Bautista landed the role in August, replacing Ryan Hurst, who dropped out of the project due to a bicep injury. According to media reports, filming was set to resume in mid-October, essentially restarting production from scratch. To make up for lost time, the team planned to shoot both ordered seasons back-to-back. However, there has been no confirmation of filming resuming yet.
Ronald D. Moore, known for “Battlestar Galactica” and “Outlander”, is helming the adaptation. The series will bring the Norse saga from God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök to the screen. In the first season, Kratos and his son Atreus will set out to fulfill Faye’s final wish — to scatter her ashes from the highest peak. The journey will bring father and son closer together, but drag them into a confrontation with the Norse gods.
The premiere date for God of War has not yet been announced.
