According to Deadline, Ben Wang is in talks to play Bobby Drake, also known as Iceman, in the “X-Men” reboot. The actor previously starred as the lead in “Karate Kid: Legends”, where Jackie Chan’s character was his mentor, and also appeared in “The Long Walk”, an adaptation of Stephen King’s novel.
According to the outlet, Gabriel LaBelle from “The Fabelmans”, Rhenzy Feliz from “The Penguin”, and Jackson Kelly also auditioned for the role. However, a final decision regarding Wang’s candidacy has not yet been made, so it is too early to confirm him for the part.
The new “X-Men” will be directed by Jake Schreier, who helmed “Thunderbolts*”. The premiere is scheduled for May 5, 2028.
