007 First Light gets a demo, but PlayStation players will have to pay for it

PC and Xbox users will be able to play through the first mission completely free of charge.

IO Interactive has released a demo for the spy action game 007 First Light. Players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC can try the game’s opening mission for free, though access to the trial version depends on the platform.

The demo, titled 007 First Light – Free Starter Pack, is already available on Steam and the Microsoft Store for everyone. PS5 owners will need a PlayStation Plus Premium subscription to access it—Sony traditionally restricts the distribution of certain game trials in this manner.

The demo includes only the first mission, titled Against the Odds, which takes about one hour to complete. The events unfold in Iceland, and the mission itself introduces players to a younger version of James Bond—a more inexperienced and impulsive agent, differing from the character’s familiar cinematic portrayal.

When purchasing the full version of 007 First Light, players will be able to continue their playthrough from where they left off in the demo. There will be no need to start the game over.
